Baroque Myriam

Hello

Hey guys, I just want to say that I’m sorry I haven’t been posting but it’s just been really busy. I have only two more weeks left of the semester and it’s getting crazy. Between that and life I haven’t been able to take time to write a post, but I have some great ideas.

So with that being said, thank you for hanging in there, and if I can’t get in a post this week, I will for sure post regularly again once the semester is over in May.

Happy Spring to you all, enjoy the warm weather (hopefully you have some, for me it has it’s ups and downs), and if you are also in school and can’t wait for the end…don’t worry, it’s coming! 🙂

Also, if you have ideas for future posts don’t hesitate to let me know, I love suggestions!

How Blogging Improved My Writing

Today I wanted to share with you guys how blogging has improved my writing. I have been thinking recently about how in college I am not afraid or reluctant to have my peers review my papers in workshops. In fact, I find it fun to read other’s papers and have them critique mine. We all come from a different viewpoint so we all catch different mistakes or have different, sometimes better, ways of writing a thought or description.

I think my enjoyment of this is because I have a pretty high confidence level in my own writing. That being said, reflecting on this a little more, I think it really comes from a few years of having my writing in the public eye. Granted that my blog wasn’t, and still isn’t, super popular and it doesn’t have a ton of views, my writing is still exposed to the world on a daily basis.

I started my blog in 2014 for school. The online curriculum I was doing at the time suggested that it’s students have blogs to post the essays we would write so that our peers and teachers could review and critique them. And that began my writing for the “public”, even though in the beginning it was just for my peers. Still, I wanted my essays to be great so that my peers would be impressed. Natural feelings to most kids, I presume?

Critique is very important. Read more…

College Q&A

Hello everyone! I am going to be answering the couple questions I got about college! Hope you enjoy, and if you haven’t yet, please do subscribe to my blog for weekly posts! ❤

Ashley asked, Are you planning on monetizing your blog?” Yes, I am! I really want to learn how and try to get some extra income off of it. All subs and likes/shares are really appreciated! I love your support! 🙂

Emma asked, Is college harder or easier than you expected? If you could warn/tell your past self about one thing (before going to college) what would it be?”

First, college is academically easier than I expected. Somehow in my mind I had made college out to be very, very difficult, academically speaking. And obviously there are harder classes, tough days and assignments you wish never existed, but overall college is easier than I expected it to be. In other aspects college is about the same as I thought it was going to be. Some professors are great, some aren’t. There are lots of great people, and some are not so great. Most of the college systems and staff are bureaucratic and the dorms and food are crap. Which is why I am so happy that I am living at home!

Second. This one’s pretty hard. Read more…

250 and Q&A!

Hey guys! Thank you so much for 250 followers!!! That is super exciting and I can’t believe I’ve gotten this far. I really appreciate it and if you feel like please do share with family and friends!

As a sort of celebration for 250, I will do a Q&A. Comment on any of my posts something you’d like to know about me, or this blog, or college, or pretty much anything! Feel free to leave more than one question. I will be answering them in next weekend’s post, so don’t miss out!

I appreciate you guys a lot! 🙂
