Done with my first year | Surviving finals

Hello everyone! Hope your day is going fantastic!

I got done with my semester and finals! I finished my first year of university and I can’t believe it went by so fast!

Now that school is over I can finally relax and I feel like I can do stuff again. I can look for a job, work out, re-aquaint myself with my long-lost hobbies and simply be outside in the sun and enjoy spring/summer. What are your plans for the summer?

One of my goals is obviously blogging. I really want to be able to blog at least once a week, but hopefully more. Because I finally have time for it!

So, with that being said, I know that although most universities are done with the semester, some aren’t yet and high school isn’t out yet either. Here are some tips to ‘survive’ finals.

Don’t procrastinate! I know it’s obvious but let’s be real. How many times do you procrastinate your homework or your studying? Especially when it comes down to the last bit of the semester. Sometimes we are so stressed we simply can’t deal with it so we procrastinate. I know, because I did it too. But in the long run it just makes us way more stressed out.

In order to not procrastinate, make yourself a list. Use your planner, computer, phone, notepad. Just write everything down. And I mean literally everything. Like I said in a previous post, having everything written down frees your mind from having to keep track of it so you can focus on actually getting stuff done. Read more…

Hello

Hey guys, I just want to say that I’m sorry I haven’t been posting but it’s just been really busy. I have only two more weeks left of the semester and it’s getting crazy. Between that and life I haven’t been able to take time to write a post, but I have some great ideas.

So with that being said, thank you for hanging in there, and if I can’t get in a post this week, I will for sure post regularly again once the semester is over in May.

Happy Spring to you all, enjoy the warm weather (hopefully you have some, for me it has it’s ups and downs), and if you are also in school and can’t wait for the end…don’t worry, it’s coming! 🙂

Also, if you have ideas for future posts don’t hesitate to let me know, I love suggestions!

College Q&A

Hello everyone! I am going to be answering the couple questions I got about college! Hope you enjoy, and if you haven’t yet, please do subscribe to my blog for weekly posts! ❤

Ashley asked, Are you planning on monetizing your blog?” Yes, I am! I really want to learn how and try to get some extra income off of it. All subs and likes/shares are really appreciated! I love your support! 🙂

Emma asked, Is college harder or easier than you expected? If you could warn/tell your past self about one thing (before going to college) what would it be?”

First, college is academically easier than I expected. Somehow in my mind I had made college out to be very, very difficult, academically speaking. And obviously there are harder classes, tough days and assignments you wish never existed, but overall college is easier than I expected it to be. In other aspects college is about the same as I thought it was going to be. Some professors are great, some aren’t. There are lots of great people, and some are not so great. Most of the college systems and staff are bureaucratic and the dorms and food are crap. Which is why I am so happy that I am living at home!

Second. This one’s pretty hard. Read more…

‘College-ing’: Tip #1

Hey guys! How did your week go? Hopefully fantastic! 🙂

I had an idea to do a ‘doing college’ (hence-‘college-ing’) tip series, every so often. Let me know if you think I should continue these. AND if you have any great college-ing tips, let me know!

It wasn’t a total waste…

For my first college semester I studied Interior Design. I found out that I really, really didn’t like it, and that instead I love business. So I transferred and fortunately those credits aren’t wasted, they actually transfer as elective credits, which is awesome.

Besides that, however, I don’t consider my design semester a waste of time. I did learn things, and while most I won’t ever use again, some I will. Especially drawing.

I am not a very good drawer, or painter, and so for design of course you have to learn these things. Which is good because I wanted to learn them, I just never did. But now, after a whole 3 months of learning to draw, I finally have the basics and can actually sketch something that looks decent! It’s pretty exciting!

So the other night I was listening to something and I sketched this. It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. I didn’t copy anything but I kinda thought of the desert when I drew it. I then colored it. So let me know what you think! (and if I should keep drawing!).

5 things I….

…LEARNED DURING MY FIRST SEMESTER IN COLLEGE-

1. You need R&R!

I never thought of rest and relaxation in the light I do today. After finishing out one semester, studying 18 credits (6 classes) and working a part time job, I finally relaxed. And then I realized that for the past 3 months I hadn’t ever fully relaxed, even over break. Letting go, relaxing, thinking of other things and just doing things completely different from school and work is essential to success in college. Read more…
