Well, I survived my wisdom teeth surgery! Yay! I am doing a lot better today, less swollen and utterly bored and tired of being in bed, watching movies and eating mashed potatoes. I am so glad I got this done before college starts (in one week ahhh!), because I would’ve been completely stressed had I had to go through this thinking about assignments and missed notes….Thanks for all the tips to make me more comfortable after my surgery. 🙂 Also, yes, I was a little loopy afterwards and it was hilarious! What I remember and what my mom tells me doesn’t fail to make me laugh! I am happy to say, none of it was embarrassing, I thought everyone was very “nice”, I cried when my mom didn’t use her GPS to get home, cried several times because I thought I was ugly with ice packs and swollen/numb face, said that I felt like an old lady when they gave me oxygen before the surgery, my sister now knows how very much I hate avocados, I kept telling my mom I should drive home, and I am very glad I don’t have to be loopy again. Were you loopy when you got your wisdom teeth removed?

Thanks for reading! Keep smiling! 😀 ❤

College 2018 School Supply Haul

Hey guys! I don’t know if you all would be interested in this, but I wanted to do a “haul” of my school supplies and things I bring to school and use on a regular basis, minus the textbooks. 🙂 So…here it is! Let me know what you guys use down below, and don’t forget to subscribe to get new weekly posts! ❤

Note that some links below are affiliate links and earn me a small commission at no extra cost to you if you purchase something!

The backpack I use is the North Face Women’s Jester. Here’s why I love it!

a. It’s super comfy and doesn’t hurt my back when I am carrying a lot of books.

b. It fits a ton of stuff and has good organization pockets in the front.

c. It’s sporty, still cute and very practical.

d. It’s durable and cleans easily.

My first semester I bought an ASUS laptop because I needed something very fast for the design programs, because I was studying Interior Design. When I switched to business I wanted a laptop that was smaller, handier, simple, but still fast. So I sold my other one and bought a MacBook Air 13″. Three words suffice. I Love It!

So awesome. I don’t have an Apple phone so this was my first Apple product. It took a while for me to figure out the operating system and the interface, but overall it’s very user friendly and super handy for school. It has a long battery life and I love how thin and easy to carry around it is! Continue reading

5 Things I Wish I Knew Freshman Year

Here are 10 Things I Wish I Knew Freshman Year. I feel like most people write/talk about this in the hopes of helping freshmen out, but I think every freshman still wishes they knew this after the year’s out. I don’t know. What do you guys think?

These are all from my experience–add your own down below!

  1. Making a friend (or two, or three) in class is really, really helpful! To me, friendship is something to work hard for. I want great friendships, and those that aren’t great aren’t worth it to me. That’s probably why I don’t have that many friends. BUT the ones I do have are great friends! So, if you’re like me and you don’t just make friends out of the blue, getting out there and making contacts is really important. I promise it will help so much! You can study together, complain about class together, do homework together, share textbooks, or get notes if you miss class. And the friendship doesn’t have to be a long-term best buddies one either. While it’s good to be genuine, nice and kind with everyone, you don’t have to stay in touch once the semester is over….but I do advise keeping their contact info just in case…. 😛 I have so many contacts in my phone of people I probably won’t talk to ever again, but who’ve helped me, and I’ve helped them, through exams, notes and stupid homework assignments. So get out there, be nice, SMILE, and make some friends! Don’t be shy. There are nice people out there too. And who knows, you may meet your best buddy yet!
  2. Taking notes is more important than you may think. I have always really liked taking notes, and learned to do it fairly well in high school. But I didn’t know just how important notes would be in college. I expected the importance, just didn’t realize it. I advise you to take notes that aren’t literal transpositions of the professors words/textbook onto your paper. Put stuff into your own words, and that is the value of your notes. To you as well as to any classmate that may ask for them! Even for classes that to you are boring, easy, downright unbearable or you just don’t think you need to take notes for, take them anyway. It helps because a) you’ll stay awake and thinking b) when tests come around you won’t panic and c) you can make great study guides out of your own notes! (Let me know if you guys want a post on that–I made some great ones last semester AND it can be great fun!) So, take NOTES!
  3. Budget your “anti-stress, self-care” coffee expenditures. I think this applies to any year student, but mainly freshmen. I can’t say I’ve done well with this….I spent WAY too much precious “it’s only 3 dollars” last year on Chai Latte’s and the occasional breakfast. Why? First, because I don’t drink coffee, and second because when we’re stressed or tired, or both, a warm drink helps. Especially for your 8 AMs, especially at abhorred class’s exam time, especially when it’s a substitute prof. Basically any and all situations in college call for a coffee. 🙂 And I don’t want to take that away from you. Or from me! We’re just gonna have to budget. I will, I promise. Will you? Give yourself an allotted amount of money for the semester for coffee and make the rest at home. At my university, your student ID card also acts as a debit card on campus. I have never used it as such, but this semester I will for this very budget. And I’ll let you guys know how it goes….I’m up for the challenge! Are you? Let me know down below!
  4. Pack your backpack the night before. When you live in the dorms, or even if you have only afternoon classes, I guess this doesn’t really apply. But for me, because I have morning classes and have to commute, it really helps me to pack my bag the night before (just like I write everything down) because I won’t forget anything and it’s less time getting out the door in the morning. I highly recommend that and also keeping a very organized bag-helps a ton!
  5. Last but not least, find your best study place and study routine. What works best for you? Do you study best between classes, at night, in the morning? In your dorm or at the library? With others or by yourself? Do you like music when you study, or not? These little details are things that we take time to learn and they are really important. Making it easier to get your homework and studying done as efficiently and on as little caffeine as possible is our main goal. So find your niche quickly, it’ll save you time later!

P.S. One more thing: get those “buy ten get one coffee free” cards they offer you at the coffee shop. I never got them and one day realized that for the amount of times I refused I could have already had a few free lattes! It’s just another way to save money, and who doesn’t want to do that! 🙂

What I am/have been/will be doing :)

Hello! I hope your summer is going great, like mine! Here is some stuff that I’m doing right now, and hopefully you enjoy my little life update! 😀

In May, after the semester finished, I did get a job. I really enjoy working and having a job to do (or school) and I also wanted the money. 😛 Obviously…. lol However, I ended up quitting a couple of weeks ago, due to some circumstances at work and stuff, and now I am actually really happy I did that! At first, when I quit I wanted to look for another job because I like working, but I didn’t. I realized that for the past couple of years I had been working or doing school non-stop and I needed a break. So, I am really grateful I am in the situation where I don’t need the money to live, and I can just take the summer off. So that’s what I am doing! I think I did need a break before I started sophomore year in college and it’s really nice to just chill. I haven’t done that in so long. You know, even when you have a vacation or you get a weekend off or whatever, you still feel like you have stuff to do and you never fully relax. So it’s super awesome to be able to do that now!

So now I am enjoying the summer. The heat has finally hit us here in MT. It’s been so cool for the past few weeks, and the 4th was the coolest 4th I have ever seen! It was like 60 degrees F! So, yeah. The heat has finally come, it truly feels like summer, and I am just really finally enjoying it! I get to go out, do fun stuff, read lots of books (which I’ve been missing), and watch movies…it feels like a permanent weekend. It’s great! So I hope you can enjoy your summer as well, wherever you are! Continue reading
