Summer is here…?

I think summer may actually be here. But I can’t be sure yet since it was a consistent 85 degrees for a couple days and then it went down to 35 and snowed a bit. Today it’s around 70 which is nice. Montana weather still drives me crazy, even after 19 years! Hopefully where you all live the weather is nicer and actually treating you like summer. I can’t complain, at least we’ve had some beautiful birds come around and the flowers have finally bloomed, and the trees are mostly all green.

So I got a summer job! I started at the end of May, and even though I was really enjoying the time off from both work and school, I have to say getting back to work has been nice. I found a job at a real estate office. The receptionist lady was going on maternity leave for the summer and it was a perfect match. They only need me till the end of August and I need to go back to school and my other job then. The office is really quiet and super chill, which is awesome. I’m working 4 days a week, which leaves me a day and the weekend to spend time off and have some fun.

A friend of mine sent me something the other day off of Twitter which read something like, “Summer vacay kicks us all. You think you’reΒ  gonna be taking awesome road trips, making decent money, and take part in a great social life. In reality you have $13 after working 40hrs/week, you talk to the same 2 people all summer and go to bed by 10pm.” Honestly that was so relatable. Even though I am trying to save more money and I have been lucky to have more than 2 friends come around. πŸ™‚

In all honesty though, I do want to do some fun stuff this summer other than the usual 4th of July parade, rodeo, and weekly farmer’s market. I don’t know if I’ll be able to travel anywhere, even close by, but I am going to try and put some money aside (cause I have so dang much! sarcasm) and hopefully go somewhere before school starts. Fingers crossed!

Other than working I’ve just been hanging out with friends, being with the family, and trying to look a little less like Caspar the Friendly Ghost by catching the sunshine when it peeps out! πŸ˜› Oh, and I’ve been watching lots of Blue Bloods! It’s such a fun show. I’m addicted. :/ But no regrets! Summer doesn’t last forever! All those to-watch and to-read lists I made during the semester are waiting till I finish my season of BB. haha

I hope y’all are doing great! Thanks for taking the time to read this, it means a lot to me. It feels really good to know that there are a few hundred people out there who actually care about what I have to say. Y’all are amazing! ❀ ❀ ❀

Summer Skin Care, Makeup & Beauty Products

Hey guys! So lately I’ve been kinda obsessed with skin care and beauty products lol. It’s been really fun and I’ve been trying to find natural products as well. I thought I’d share in case any of you wanted to check them out. (I’m linking everything down below)

I wear minimal makeup usually, so having a good moisturizer is important. I tried a tinted moisturizer from Ulta for a while but it didn’t really give me the effect I wanted. So right now I use the FirstAid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. It’s an amazing moisturizer and it smells amazing (grapefruit). It’s also very natural and safe for sensitive skin. I totally love this cream, best one I’ve found so far!

I also really love the Shea Moisture facial moisturizer. It’s great for putting on after you take the day’s makeup off and leaves your skin really fresh.

Shea Moisture also has great facial wipes, which I use to take off my makeup since I use very little. They moisturize as well. I did find another brand though, that’s less natural but works a little better and smells great! The brand is Polish’d Beauty Supply but I can’t find them online. Neither of these brands have negative effects on my eyes, which are pretty sensitive so that’s great!

As far as face wash goes….I use the Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream. My mom gets a lot of extra Clinique beauty products and so I use those for most of my makeup and stuff. I also use their liquid facial soap on a more daily basis if I wear heavier makeup and I wash using a facial cleansing brush.

Since it’s the summer and I am finally getting tanned skin, I put on very little to no foundation. If I do put on, I use the Clinique superbalanced foundation in the Ivory (03) tint. I then apply the Ulta full coverage liquid concealer in the light warm shade (works great!). I use the Clinique high impact mascara in 01 Black (but I might buy another brand to try and get waterproof–any suggestions?). I use a simple Clinique pallette for my blush and highlight and sometimes apply a light pink shade of eye shadow from a Max Studio palette I found at TJMaxx. (A ton of beauty products can be found there and I love it!) I don’t really like eyeliner and eyebrow filler and stuff. So I don’t use those normally. And I rarely use any lip products either. But I do love EOS’s lip balms and have several of those.

I found an amazing deodorant, which is truly the best natural, aluminum free one I’ve ever tried that worked! It’s the Humble brand. I use the non-scented one since I prefer less smells. Highly recommend this product!

I found a teeth whitener at TJMaxx by accident that wasn’t full of chemicals and I decided to try it. It works wonders! It’s a very easy to use whitener pen and you see the results very quickly. Dr. Brite also has other products like toothpaste and stuff, but I haven’t gotten those. Yet.

I thought I’d also mention perfume/eau de toilette as well. I like the Pacifica brand for a lot of scents, but they don’t last real long. Especially the roll on ones, even though I like to carry them around for a quick application. Right now my favorite is the Elizabeth Arden green tea cucumber scent. It’s very fresh and simple and lasts quite a while. I don’t like overpowering scents and since I’m very sensitive to them I can’t have super long lasting ones either.

What are some other products you guys use? If you have any recommendations I’d love to hear them! I need some good hair products, which I currently am trying to find, so any help is appreciated!

Here are the products I mentioned:

Happy June to you all! ❀ πŸ™‚

I’m Halfway Done With College!

I can’t believe I am halfway done with college already! Two years went by super fast. I won’t say they went by too quickly, cause that’s definitely not true; if they could’ve gone by faster I’d have signed up. The last couple semesters have been pretty stressful. I took six classes each semester, a total of 18 or 19 credits, I worked part time, and I also enrolled in the Honors College.

It has been great though! Last week was finals and I did really well, I am happy to say! Got 4/6 A’s this semester so that’s something to be proud of, although we would’ve liked more haha. Who wouldn’t? I also won a scholarship for the fall, which is soooo awesome! It’s not a super big scholarship but it will cover my books/supplies cost, which is what I needed. I feel very grateful for that! It also means I have to attend the business college’s scholarship banquet in September, so I bought some cute heels to go with one of my dresses….even though its four months in advance. Any excuse to go shopping is good enough, right? πŸ˜›

Since my job is only during the semesters, I have been applying for a bunch of jobs here in my town. I have one interview that I’m going to on Tuesday, and I am really hoping that I get it. It’s for a real estate office and one, that’s great cause I have office experience, and two, I may want to get my real estate license in the future so this would be a great step forward.

I am also really happy because a couple of my really good friends aren’t going home for the summer and are staying here, which means I get to see them more often and we can go ahead and do some fun things this summer! πŸ˜€ I want to also travel a little, maybe somewhere like Seattle or something, but we’ll see what happens. I’m not holding my breath over it, but also kinda trying to get it to work out. Also, I will also be hopefully seeing my best friend (hey, Alli! <3) this summer after three years, so that will be super, super AWESOME!

I am sick and tired of the wintery weather. It’s still kinda chilly here in Montana, I don’t know why we can’t have a proper spring already. In the next couple of weeks I really hope that it warms up and the trees get leaves and the flowers bloom, cause it’s May already! And I am wearing shorts. Cause I don’t care lol. It comes to the point where I wear summer clothes in an effort to make the warm weather come sooner, although that obviously doesn’t work. Sadly.

My newest favorite TV show/obsession is Blue Bloods. My last one was 24. I highly recommend both. Blue Bloods can be easier to watch, it resolves itself every episode, the characters are well acted and the story revolves around a kind family. It’s very American and I love the cop stories. I am currently on season 3, but they’ve made 9 so far, and renewed for a tenth for 2020. Means I have a lot of watching to do….although I’ll try to keep it reasonable. If you guys have any good recommendations for shows, I’d love to hear them! I compiled a movie/book list over the semester to watch and read over the summer, and I’d love to add to it!

I’ve been journaling every day for the past week, which is a first in my whole life. I have never been able to keep a diary or a journal, honestly my blog was the closest to either I’ve ever come. But I am really going to try to keep this going. I allot time every morning for about twenty minutes. It’s been really relaxing honestly. And writing down my thoughts helps me not stress about things.

I hope you guys are having a great spring/summer so far! It’s probably warm already where you live. Montana is probably the only state that’s still chilly. :/ Might scare away the first wave of tourists though, so if I look at it like that….maybe I don’t mind so much. πŸ˜‰ Gotta love it! hehe ❀

What’s been going on……

Hello everybody! It’s been ages since I last posted! I’ve been so busy, but now I’m back and I wanted to tell you all what had been going on. But first, how are you all doing? Are you looking forward to summer? I am. πŸ™‚

So as most of you probably knew, I was homeschooled my entire life, including through high school. This makes high-school graduation and getting into college a bit different. First of all, I decided upon the following as my course of study in college and university.

-Two years at community college for an A.A.S. in Interior Design.Β

-Then transfer to university (to which community college is an extension) and finish two more years to get a B.S. in Business Managament.Β

After talking with a couple of people at the university, this option was presented: a four year program where you can earn two degrees. One major plus in the program is that because I am earning a technical degree (I.D.) I don’t need to take any of the standard “core” university classes, such as sociology and phycology. Instead of doing the typical four year route, in which you spend two years basically studying “core” classes, I get to spend them studying something I love, and something that gives me a skill to use to fund the rest of my higher education and after. I’m really excited to start it!

Usually getting into college requires an SAT or ACT, but because I am entering into community college first I only needed to take my GED, or HiSET–the high school equivalency test. Which brings me to the point of why I wasn’t posting. I was studying!

I am really happy to say that the studying payed off and I passed all five of my HiSET tests with amazing scores! The five tests were writing, reading, math, science, and social studies. Out of all of them writing was my weakest, but still a great score.

I graduated from high school on Friday May 12th. And, on the same day, passed my driving test and got my driver’s license. So, I’m done. It all happened at once, but now it’s also all finished at the same time.

Now that I’m finished with school, I want to work over the summer and relax before college starts this fall. Hopefully I’ll be able to write on this blog a lot more. I really want to. And now that I’m done with school, this blog will be more about my hobbies, and what I’m doing. I also want to write about some things I’ve learned about applying for college, scholarships and that kind of stuff; studying tips; my opinions on things.

I’d like to post at least once a week, I think I can do it!

Thanks for reading, and if you haven’t already, please follow me!

Have a great rest of your day!

Myriam

Hello, again!

Hey! I haven’t posted in ages! I’ve been pretty busy and between that and school being out I just don’t post any more. I’ve left y’all hanging. But, I’ve decided to just write random stuff and hope you find it even a little bit interesting.

Well, since I started my jewelry business in May, I’ve been busy doing that. I make jewelry constantly for a couple of reasons. One, I absolutely love making jewelry and it’s my favorite hobby, past-time, relaxer, etc…. Two, because I need to have new products all the time.

Every week I go to my local farmer’s market to sell my jewelry. The first week I made a decent amount of money. The second week I made even more. But the third week, something was wrong with the people! They just wouldn’t buy. 😦 It was quite frustrating. Anyway, I didn’t go this past week because, well, where I live it’s so darn windy sometimes you almost get blown over. The last time I went, me and my sister had to hold the tent down and my earrings were blowing away! Needless to say we packed up early, with very little money in our pockets and left. But, I’m going again this next week and hoping against hope that the wind might be forgiving for at least three hours. (fat chance) Continue reading
